Preparation for FC Barcelona vs Espanyol:

Barça will face Espanyol tomorrow, last positioned team, who could be tossed off to Segunda Division by their bitter rivals and neighbors; FC Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Barça will have to win all its remaining games in La Liga and hope for few favors from Villarreal and Granada to retain the title.

Frenkie de Jong, who has missed five games due to a calf injury, returned to training on Tuesday. Setien says he could be ready for the Nuevo José Zorrilla trip this weekend for the match against Real Valladolid.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has dismissed Santos’ appeal to FIFA: 

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has dismissed the appeal made by Santos to FIFA in which the Brazilian club claimed payment of 61,295,000 euros in damages from FC Barcelona and the corresponding sporting bans with regards to the transfer of Neymar Jr. 

The CAS considers that the contract between Santos and the player was ended by mutual agreement, that FC Barcelona did not infringe any transfer agreement when it paid additional amounts to the father of the player and to the N&N company and that FC Barcelona did not behave fraudulently when it signed a pre-contract with Neymar Jr nor when it signed a transfer agreement with Santos. 

The CAS verdict compels Santos to pay FC Barcelona’s legal costs, a figure of 20,000 Swiss francs. 


Pedri and Trincão; Untransferrable:

Despite multiple offers on the table about the potential transfer of Pedri and Trincão, the board has rejected the possibility of their transfer and made a concrete decision that the duo will be featured in Camp Nou in the coming season.



Barcelona rejects RB Leipzig’s loan proposal for Iliax Moriba of Barca B:

RB Leipzig has asked Barcelona for the loan of promising La Masia midfielder Ilaix Moriba for their first team, but technical secretary Abidal has rejected the proposal. 

Barça trusts that Ilaix will develop all the qualities he has shown at the club, taking the necessary steps, without haste but without pause.

Lautaro Martinez’s release clause has expired today: 

Lautaro Martinez’s 111M release clause has expired today. But due to the good relationship between Barça and Inter, Inter will allow the clause to extend till the end of the summer transfer window. 

This doesn’t worry Barcelona since they never wanted to sign the Argentine through his release clause anyway. The idea is to negotiate a fee + player(s) deal with Inter Milan for the striker.
